I agree, it is a really useful feature; I used it a lot on my old Nikon F90. New technology is a wonderful thing, even when it's been done before. -- Adam.

According to the illustrations Spot AF is indicated by a small dot inside the active square. This is not what I see on my 7D: All I have is an empty square as if it.

spot-AF at the second up from center FP (set separately for horizontal and vertical ), in other words the CFP is never used - even with f/2.8 or faster lenses);.

well 19 images is alot, but when I have time this coming week I will. It's not a big deal though. I think I'm going to sell my 24-105 and the 7D. Just got the D7000.

I was wondering whether people have experience comparing Spot vs Single point AF in AI Servo mode for sports. I shoot field sports mostly and prefer these two.
